LOCATIONS

If you find yourself on a road trip along I-84, especially near Biggs Junction, Oregon, there's a culinary treasure that you simply can't ignore: Indian Curry and Kababs. Nestled in the Church Building on Biggs Rufus Hwy, this hidden gem serves up an extraordinary selection of authentic Indian cuisine that promises an explosion of flavors in every bite.

Customers rave about the rich tapestry of tastes that can be experienced here. One enthusiastic diner, Sidra Blake, emphasized the authenticity of the dishes, rivaling Indian food she's enjoyed both domestically and globally. It's takeout that doesn't just offer convenience but a complexity and depth of flavor that fast food simply can't match. This sentiment is echoed throughout numerous reviews, where visitors have expressed their amazement at how a seemingly random food cart could yield such incredible meals.

Imagine biting into a Chicken Kathi Roll as described by J “The Left Lane Rider” Tho, with fresh ingredients and a warm spice that dances on your palate. Even more delightful is the Mutton Biryani, which is said to be so good that customers return multiple times to indulge in its succulent, flavor-packed goodness. The dishes at Indian Curry and Kababs aren't just meals; they are an experience infused with the passion of Chef Pritam and his team, who prioritize authentic recipes and high-quality ingredients without the interference of unnecessary adaptations.

Moreover, the glowing review from Ben Van Meter highlights the absence of "Americanized" twists, a common pitfall that diminishes the integrity of authentic cuisines. Instead, diners can savor the rich, aromatic spices typical of Indian cooking, from the buttery Butter Chicken to the incredibly fluffy Naan. It’s the kind of food that doesn’t just fill you up; it fills your soul.

As you dine, the atmosphere fosters a sense of community. Karan Sharma recalls not just a satisfying meal but also the warmth of Gaurav Kainth, the gracious host who enhances your experience with tips about local attractions. The place offers both indoor and outdoor seating—an inviting setup where food lovers can relish their meals while soaking in the charm of the surroundings.

For anyone making their way through this stretch of Oregon, Indian Curry and Kababs is more than just a stop for food—it’s an essential destination. With every flavorful bite, you'll understand why diners mark their maps to guide them back for more. Whether it's the peaceful ambiance or the unforgettable taste, this restaurant has secured its place in the hearts of travelers and food enthusiasts alike. Most authentic Indian I’ve had in the US and I’m well traveled domestically and internationally. We debated the efficiency of ‘take out’ but it was similar wait time as fast food and came with loads more flavor, complexity, and happier digestive track than the alternatives. Thank you! I will support this vendor every road trip through Biggs Junction.

OMG...this place was amazing to my taste buds. I came in for lunch and ordered the chicken kathi roll. It was so terrific, I had to stop back in for dinner and ordered the mutton biryani. Both meals were absolutely fantastic and most delicious. The service was great and the meal was fresh and hot. I put a star on my map, so every time I come through here, I will make sure to stop and have a meal. You'll be very satisfied and happy you stopped here.

Who knew one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had would be steps away from the beset foiling! Rufus Indian Takeout is a hidden gem in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it town — but trust me, you don’t want to miss it. The smell alone will stop you mid-rig. You’re expecting convenience-store hot dogs... but what you get is legit, flavour-packed Indian food made fresh by people who clearly care. I ordered the butter chicken with rice and naan — and had to stop myself from licking the container clean. Spices hit just right. Naan was pillowy, rice fluffy, sauce rich. And it’s not just one-hit-wonder good — everyone in our crew went back the next day. Some twice.

Excellent food, generous portions, we had Chicken Malai Methi with rice and Naan. Eat in or take out, clean restrooms

This maybe the most random place ever for really good indian food. It’s in the middle of nowhere and in the most obscure place. And the weirdest thing is, there are 2 other indian carts right across the road. I wasn’t even hungry at the time, but the purely oddity of the encounter made me stop and try it, and I am glad I did. They had some of the best biryani I have had in a awhile, better than most carts and restaurants back in Portland. The biryani packed a lot of flavor and had the just right amount of heat. It was so good I finished it all in one sitting, and I wanted to try the other dishes but I was full and had to get back on the road. This place will definitely be a stop right time I am through even if I am not hungry just to try the other dishes.

This ranks among the best Indian food I've ever had and I will be stopping here any time I am on I-84 again. I ordered the chicken malai methi after asking the owner for recommendations and it was absolutely fantastic. The owner is a trained chef and he put his own spin on the dish. Biggs Junction seems like a strange place to find such amazing food, but the owner specifically chose this location because there's a significant number of Indian truck drivers working in the U.S. and drive along I-84. Many stopped while we were waiting on and later enjoying our food, so that reinforced my perspective that this was legit Indian food. They do not "Americanize" their food by adding whipped cream or sugar nor do they reduce the amount of seasonings and spices, which explains why it smelled and tasted so wonderful. This is a must stop for foodies or anyone that wants to try authentic Indian food!

One of the best Indian food places in the Pacific Northwest. Visited the small town of Maryhill as part of a scenic drive and found this gem of a food truck. They also have restaurant style seating indoors and outdoors. Food is delicious and this place is a must visit. Tried their paneer butter masala, garlic naan and samosa for dinner and loved it. Special shoutout to Gaurav Kainth who was a great host. He also recommended some things to do around Maryhill and helped with the day 2 itinerary. In the morning, stopped here for breakfast again. Chef Pritam suggested to try their mixed paratha- it's the best paratha ever, better than anything I have eaten back in India. Chai was outstanding, large cup for just 3. Later in the day visited again to get mango Lassi for the drive back - it was thick and delicious. Also got to go samosas for the drive back, coz you guessed it, their samosas are amazing too. I'll be going back to this town just to visit indian curry and kababs.

Indian, Punjabi Indian... just off the interstate in Biggs Junction, Oregon. Not even gas station Indian just a food cart in a gravel parking lot (and a nice indoor seating area near by). It's not even good Indian. It's great! The pakora is huge. The chicken kathi wrap was a little sweet but the chicken was falling apart tender.
